Choosing an automotive polish
Choosing an automotive polish can seem very hit or miss. There are so many products on the market. Deciding which one is good can be difficult. What qualities make one automotive polish better than another one? It isn't just price. While the cost of polishes can vary considerably, the most expensive aren't always the better ones. Likewise, just because you didn't pay a lot doesn't mean you aren't getting more than your money's worth.
One of the best ways to choose car care products is to ask the experts. By experts I mean informed individuals that you trust. That could be the mechanics at your local automotive body repair shop or the salesperson at the automotive supply store. Asking professionals that work in the field is helpful because they've been exposed to various products and can probably better compare them than you can.
If you don't have someone to ask, then do the research. For instance, some polishes can be abrasive. If you have a base coat clear coat finish on your car, as many cars nowadays do, you may need to be wary of products like that. Decide what it is you want to get out of a car wax or a polish and choose a product that seems to offer those things.
In the end it may be a little trial and error. If it doesn't cost too much you might want to test out small areas and run a little comparison test yourself. If you find a product that works, use it. There really is no one right answer.
